History of the flag
Back in 2010, the City of Ballarat commissioned Artistic Director Kat Pengelly to lead a creative collaborative session for the Ballarat Interfaith Network. This initiative sought to produce a unique visual symbol reflecting the rich tapestry of our local faiths. The resulting flag debuted during the first United Nations World Interfaith Harmony Week in February 2011. Today, this emblem is kept at the Ballarat Town Hall and is proudly hoisted every year to honor global unity and mutual cultural respect.

The colour orange symbolises harmony. The path of the stars is the spiritual journey from earth to light
